Senior Pictures at The Patch in Walkertown, NC

If you're picturing senior pictures with a little bit of country, golden light and room to move, The Patch in Walkertown is one of my favorite places to bring seniors. It's just a short drive from Winston-Salem and Kernersville, and it feels a world away from the hallways of senior year.

Why we love The Patch for senior pictures

  • The rope swing. A wooden rope swing hangs from a big shade tree at the edge of the field. Seniors sit, stand or swing on it, and it's always one of the favorite images in the gallery.
  • Tall grass and open fields. The field gives us soft, natural backgrounds that make outfits pop, from flowy dresses to denim and boots.
  • Golden hour. When the sun drops behind the tree line, the light turns warm and glowing. We plan the session around that last hour of daylight.
  • Variety in one stop. Shade under the tree, bright open field and backlit sunset portraits all happen within a few steps, so we get a lot of different looks without driving between locations.

What to wear at The Patch

This location loves soft, flowing fabrics and earthy or bright colors. Sundresses, two-piece sets, lace details and cowboy boots look beautiful against the green field, and a classic white top is perfect for close-up portraits. If you're bringing your cap and gown or your school colors, this is a great place for those images too. I'll send you an idea board during our consultation so you know exactly what to pack.

Senior guys and athletes at The Patch

The Patch isn't just for flowy dresses. Senior guys look sharp here in a crisp button-down or a casual tee in the tall grass, and the moody tree line makes a great backdrop for a dressed-up look in a suit. Senior athletes can bring their gear, too: a bat, glove and ball bucket in the field make for a one-of-a-kind senior portrait that shows off the sport you love. You're even welcome to bring your car for a few shots that show your personality.

Every Styled Shots senior session starts with a consultation, where we choose the location that fits your style and the season. The Patch is at its best from late spring through fall, when the field is full and the evenings are long. Professional hair and makeup can be added to your session for an additional fee, so you show up camera-ready and confident.

The Patch is located at 4672 Camp Betty Hastings Rd, Walkertown, NC, and is an easy drive for seniors from Winston-Salem, Kernersville, Walkertown and across the Triad.
