Why the Quarry at Grant Park works so well for seniors

  • The love lock bridge. Hundreds of colorful locks line the railings of the steel bridge. With the right lens, they turn into sparkling, blurred color behind you, and the bridge's long lines make for strong, editorial-style portraits.
  • Skyline views. From the overlook you can see the Winston-Salem skyline in the distance, a perfect nod to your hometown in your senior pictures.
  • Sculptures and texture. The large gold-and-stone ring sculpture frames a senior beautifully, and the concrete and steel give us modern, clean backgrounds.

What to wear at the Quarry

Because this location mixes city and nature, it's perfect for casual, confident looks: a fitted tank or crop top with wide-leg or high-rise denim, white sneakers, or a bold color that stands out against the steel and greenery. Black-and-white images look amazing here, too. For a second outfit, try something dressier to contrast with the industrial textures.

The Quarry is a great choice on its own or paired with a second location, like a flower field or my Winston-Salem studio, for even more variety.
